Super
East Baseball has announced the Baseball Scout Series(BSS).
The BSS will take place on four specific weekends in
September and October beginning in 2009.
The idea is to have three
recognizable amateur baseball programs compete in the Fall
for the purpose of giving their players maximum exposure to
college coaches and professional scouts. Rosters, pitching
rotations, line-ups, etc. will all be posted the Thursday
before each weekend so that college coaches and pro scouts
know exactly what players will be doing that weekend.
Players that fill each roster
will be comprised of present HS eligible players that are
juniors and seniors.
Each program will host one BSS
weekend. Every weekends BSS will see every team play a seven
inning double header on Saturday and a single nine inning
game on Sunday.
Professional Scouts and
College Coaches will be formally invited to attend all
weekends once the rosters for each team are solidified.
The bottom line is this, fall
baseball is a great time for players to be exposed to
college coaches and pro scouts. Minus college scout days,
there is not a lot going on, explains Super East Baseball
President Dan Kennedy. Each team has the opportunity to run
their individual fall programs while taking advantage of the
opportunity to fill their schedule against other teams that
are looking for quality games. We are hopeful that the
reputation of the programs and consistent quality of their
players will draw attention from the college coaches and pro
scouts.
Each team that is
participating in the 2009 BSS is accepting registrations for
their fall rosters that will surely fill fast. Please see
below for contact information for each team.
